Tim Hightower has reached a one year deal with the Washington Redskins for the 2012 season, and he announced his return via Twitter last night.
So this is great news for Redskins Fans and RGIII, now that he's going to have a talent of this caliber in the backfield with him for 2012.
The terms of Hightower's deal haven't been released, but what I do know is that he's one of the oldest running backs in the NFC East this year. Hightower will turn 26 this month, and the only running back older than he is, is Ahmad Bradshaw with the NY Giants.
There's a lot of reasons to be excited this season if you're a fan of the NFC East and the youth at Running Back is a big one.
With young, fresh legs it should bring the NFC East back to it's roots as a ground and pound division where the strength of your arm matters less than the strength of your run-defense.
I for one am looking forward to this season more and more, and regardless of the record at the end of the season, I believe we'll finally start seeing the improvements that Shanahan has been working to bring to the field.
