The Wizards never really had a chance yesterday in their opening game versus the Orlando Magic. The whole team struggled as John Wall was 6-19 with 14 points in his debut, the Wizards lost 112-83, which is the biggest team lost by a no. 1 pick in the common draft era.
The Magic out rebounded the Wiz 53 to 25, and while not every team is not the Orlando Magic, the Wizards are going to have to pick it up if they are going to improve on their 26-56 record from a year ago.
Dwight Howard lead all scorers with 23 points with 10 rebounds, with 4 of 5 Magic starters scoring in double figures. The leading scorer for the Wizards was Cartier Martin who had 17 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals. A lone bright spot for the Wiz, they forced 21 turnovers, and had 10 steals. Lets hope that shows some hope on the defensive end, and leads to some win when they aren't playing a Championship contender.
