In another Free Agency move, the Redskins have acquired fourth year player, Jonathan Goff from the New York Giants.
Goff was drafted by the Giants in 2008 and became a full time starter in 2010 only to suffer a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee shortly before the season opener last year and spend the season on I.R.
Apparently the Giants didn't think enough of his talents and his rehab to keep him around this year, and allowed him to seek out other options. Luckily for the Redskins, he was available and agreeable to joining the team.
He will most likely compete for either Perry Riley's Inside Linebacker spot or serve as a backup to both Riley and Fletcher. If his ACL is healed, this is a major acquisition and could be setting up the interior linebacking corps for a very good future.
